Lev Borodulin

Borodulin photographed for a state where not getting arrested or censored required complicity and a sensitive eye. Returning from Red Army service in Berlin he began to photograph post-war Russia and, from the 1950s, specialised in highly aestheticised images of sporting prowess. Borodulin emigrated from the Soviet Union in 1972
