Mario Giacomelli

For Giacomelli life existed in black and white - boldly contrasted, clearly defined blocks of monochrome. Having returned from war and its horrors he took images of a nostalgic Italy, simpler, more comfortable. A world of priests in the snow, nuns, children, landscapes and the elderly from the home his Mother worked in. He even stripped-down his camera so only the basics were left.
